Directions: What you need: 1-1/2 cups water, 3/4 cup milk, 1 tablespoon margarine, butter or
spread with no trans fat.
Range top directions: 1. In a medium saucepan, bring water, milk and margarine, butter
or spread with no trans fat to a boil; reduce heat to Medium. 2. Slowly stir in pasta
and Special Seasonings. Separate pasta with a fork, if needed. Boil uncovered, 4
to 5 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring frequently. 3. Sauce will be thin.
Let stand 5 minutes to thicken. 2-1/2 cups prepared.
To prepare 2 boxes: Follow range top directions, except prepare 2 boxes of Pasta
Roni Tomato parmesan in a 3-quart saucepan with 3 cups water, 1 1/2 cups milk and
2 tablespoons margarine, butter or spread with no trans fat. At High Altitudes: Increase
cook time to 6 to 9 minutes.
Stir-in ideas: For variety, stir in the following with the pasta and Special Seasonings
in Step 2 of the range top directions: 8 ounces Italian sausage, cooked, drained
and 1/4 cup chopped parsley. Less fat directions: Follow range top or microwave directions,
except omit any added oil and use 3/4 cup skim milk.
Microwave directions: 1. In a round 2-quart microwaveable glass casserole dish, combine
1 1/2 cups water, 3/4 cup milk and 1 tablespoon margarine, butter or spread with
no trans fat. 2. Microwave uncovered, at High 4 to 5 minutes or until boiling. 3.
Slowly stir in pasta and Special Seasonings. Separate pasta with a fork, if needed.
4. Microwave at High 1 minute. 5. Stir. 6. Microwave at High 3 to 4 more minutes
or until pasta is tender. 7. Stir well. Sauce will be thin. Let stand 3 to 5 minutes
to thicken. Microwave ovens vary; adjust times as needed.
